Hello and welcome! I’m Susie, an Australian who’s been living in Beijing since 2003.

While I never felt like I was good at art, I have always enjoyed making and creating things – stuff I can use or wear, things in my style that also serve a purpose.

I took up sewing a few years ago and then got really into making my own shoes and bags too.

In 2020, I opened Make Me to teach workshops in Beijing. We have a studio where we hold workshops in the beautiful Beijing hutong area between Dongzhimen and Beixinqiao. I have a passion for creating, making and sharing what I learn along the way. I hope you can join me in the studio some time to make something that you will enjoy for years to come.

You can keep updated on our workshops and things by signing up for our email newsletter, or if you’re a WeChat user, you can follow our official account here:

Cheers,
Susie

An Aussie living in Beijing since 2003, she never really recovered from her first visit to a shoe shop whereupon enquiring about sizes she was informed, “Your feet are too big.” She now strives to support all the generously-footed peoples of this small-shoed city, as well as those who just really want to make their own awesome shoes.
